In addition to advising Senior Management on all financial matters, the Executive Financial Officer also conducts the Foundation's financial planning and develops the institutional investment plan. Other duties are:

• Direct, plan and control subordinate areas and activities (treasury, accounting, audits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax controls, equity, insurance and foreign exchange)
  
• Monitor budgets, cash flows and working capital controls of all departments supported by FFM
  
• Supervise and manage finance staff
  
• Perform effective financial risk management and ensure adequate cash flow for institutional operations
  
• Coordinate billing and collection processes for SUS, Supplementary Health and other services provided
  
• Develop projects and new business models to achieve the objectives of cost reduction, revenue increase and sustainable growth
  
• Prepare reports and forecasts, as well as develop and monitor financial indicators
  
• Ensure compliance of institutional practices, with current legislation and with institutional policies and guidelines
