The main objective of the Department of Projects, Research and Innovation is to identify and encourage research opportunities, in addition to proposing and implementing the processing flow for projects to be carried out within the scope of the FMUSP-HC System, always in line with the Foundation's policies. It also monitors the development of ongoing research and its activities are coordinated by the Corporate Management Board. Other duties are:

• Carry out administrative-financial management of all assistance, research, training, health policy projects, among others, linked to contracts and agreements with the FMUSP-HC System
  
• Identify demands for training in the area of research and project management
  
• Acting in the financial control of the other non-operating accounts of the FMUSP-HC System, with emphasis on clinical study contracts with the pharmaceutical industry
  
• Support the research evaluation committee in accordance with institutional guidelines
  
• Articulate with FMUSP and HCFMUSP research, actions to encourage translational research and technological innovation within the scope of the hospital complex
  
• Articulate with the instances of FMUSP and HCFMUSP, in order to promote adherence to standard operating procedures related to the processes of approval, development, monitoring and budgetary execution of research projects
  
• Identify public announcements to promote research and innovation in health technology, subject to competition by groups that develop research within the scope of FMUSP and HCFMUSP
  
• Contribute to agreements and contracts related to researches
  
• Support within the scope of FMUSP and HCFMUSP the promotion of events, congresses, lectures and symposium of scientific dissemination and propagation of science
  
• Develop actions that promote the Institution's certification as an innovation entity before official bodies
